Amazon Fulfillment Center on Track for 2024 Opening

Following some shifting timelines, Amazon plans to deliver in 2024.

In the works since being announced in 2021, the Amazon fulfillment center under construction in Delta Township is expected to be completed before the end of the year. However, there’s no clear indication as to what month it might open.

“The Delta fulfillment center is on track to launch in 2024,” said Amazon spokesperson Andre Woodson. “Exterior construction is complete; interior construction is not.”

He said the Delta fulfillment center remains part of Amazon’s future plans in Michigan, and more information will be available when construction wraps up.

The company announced in 2021 it planned to build a 1 million-square-foot facility at the corner of Mount Hope Highway and Creyts Road, according to a news release from the Lansing Economic Area Partnership. The fulfillment center will bring more than 500 jobs to the region, with an average starting wage of $17 per hour, according to the release.

Delta Township officials confirmed the facility will be up and running in 2024.
