East Lansing – Helping Hands Respite Care (HHRC) announces the appointment of Mr. Edward Hagan as Interim Executive Director for the agency. Mr. Hagan will manage the agency while the Board of Directors conducts a search for the next Executive Director.
Respite is defined as a “short break,” which is what HHRC offers to families in the Tri-County area through its care programs and by hiring and training quality staff who can be trusted to keep the family’s loved one interested, engaged, and safe while the family takes a short break from their caregiving duties.
Mr. Hagan brings considerable experience to the position having served for seven years as Executive Director of Big Brother Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region. Prior to that Hagan served on the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors. Mr. Hagan also had an accomplished and diverse career in the Michigan Department of Natural Resources from which he retired in 2002.
Mr. Hagan holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Michigan University majoring in Behavioral Psychology as well as a Secondary Teaching Certificate.
Helping Hands Respite Care administrative offices and Adult Day Services program are located in East Lansing.
