Be Our Guest: Local Hotels Aid in Helping Distracted Workers

Hotels across the region are renting space for office workers to work away from work and home in a COVID-safe space.

Working from home has its challenges. From kids playing loudly in the background of Zoom meetings to pets running around, there are many distractions that come from working from home.

However, a number of hotels across the region have a message for employees looking for a quiet and undisturbed working environment during the pandemic: Be our guest.

Many Greater Lansing hotels, including the Hyatt Place Lansing-East and the Radisson Hotel at the Capitol, are swapping the work-from-home model with a work-from-hotel offering by providing day packages that will allow people to work in the privacy of their own completely sanitized and COVID-compliant hotel room.

Local hotels are struggling with low occupancy rates due to COVID-19, and most events, meetings and leisure travel plans are being canceled. The concept is a way for hotels to get rooms occupied while helping out the struggling employees who are finding it challenging to work from home due to life struggles.

These hotels have committed to the Greater Lansing Safe Pledge, which means each hotel is taking extra precautions to keep rooms clean and sanitized along with making sure each patron is safe and healthy.

Rates start at $50. Check in is at 6 a.m. and check out is at 6 p.m.

Now those working from home can take off for a day, get the important work done and be able to utilize all the amenities that hotels have to offer such as quiet and safe rooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, coffee, gyms, free parking, food services, and more.
