New Businesses Bring the Sweet with the Savory

Are you opening a new business in the region? Let us know.

Two new businesses have hung out a shingle in Greater Lansing, taking care of both dinner and dessert needs for local residents.

Jen Reaser has been satisfying her customers’ sweet tooth since 2004 with Delicious Delights Cakes LLC, and now she has opened her “dream store” in the food court at the Lansing Mall.

“I think what makes Delicious Delights unique is the customer service,” said Reaser. “Also, many places use boxed mixes. I do not.”

Scratch baking allows Reaser to accommodate dietary needs and customize flavor combinations.

“We are never afraid to try a new combination upon request,” she said.

Reaser’s favorite cake is peanut butter, sometimes with peanut-butter frosting and sometimes with chocolate. She offers gluten-free, paleo, sugar-free and vegan cakes. She teams with charitable organizations and is grateful to customers for helping her succeed.

In neighboring East Lansing, husband-and-wife teams Bill and Kim Marchiori and Tony and Katy Marchiori have opened the latest location of the Detroit Wing Co. Bill Marchiori said the restaurant prides itself on “the highest quality wings and sauces available.”

His favorite is the boneless wings with sweet barbecue sauce.

“We are excited about becoming a very active part of the East Lansing and MSU community. … We look forward to many events supporting the community and various charities and organizations,” he added.

Detroit Wing Co. is at 437 E. Grand River Ave. and offers catering for home, office and tailgating.
