Karen Grannemann, currently serving as the University Club’s Chief Operating Officer, has been chosen to lead the U-Club following the retirement of current CEO/GM Richard Bruner in 2014. The Club’s Board of Directors unanimously selected Grannemann to serve as CEO/GM Designee, assuming the role of CEO/GM immediately following Richard Bruner’s retirement on June 30, 2014.
Grannemann joined the University Club staff in October of 1996, serving as Membership Director, Director of Business Operations and Chief Operating Officer.
As COO, she has been fully involved in virtually all aspects of the Club’s operations, leading the executive team through the Club’s sizable growth, numerous renovations, and impressive innovations.
She and her husband Norman are longtime residents of Okemos and the parents of two adult daughters. Grannemann is very active in the community, and will be working closely with Bruner over the next year to ensure a smooth transition.
“The Board is delighted that Ms. Grannemann has accepted our offer, and is confident in her abilities to lead the University Club to even greater heights,” comments Board president Wanda Lipscomb. “We want to express gratitude to Richard Bruner for his many years of service, and congratulations to Karen as she steps into this new role.”
