Behind Michigan’s most inclusive communities lies a powerful, statewide engine — one quietly transforming how human service providers work, lead and innovate.
Dedicated to fostering inclusive communities, Incompass Michigan has built an extensive network of human service providers committed to helping all Michiganders live meaningful, engaged lives. The organization delivers on this mission through four core pillars: advocacy, innovation, education and leadership development.
To continually strengthen Michigan’s workforce, Incompass offers robust education programs that bring staff together for professional development, teaching them how to deliver services more effectively and build talented teams. These offerings include specialized training on accreditation standards, job development, customized employment strategies, job coaching techniques and workplace safety — all anchored in a commitment to inclusion.
The organization also invests heavily in unique leadership potential. Its tiered leadership programming allows professionals to grow through continuous, targeted training at every stage of their careers.
“Alumni of the Incompass Michigan leadership development programs have put their knowledge and network to work by becoming key contributors in their communities and places of business — including here in Lansing,” said Todd Culver, president and CEO of Incompass Michigan.
Beyond targeted training, Incompass Michigan hosts two signature statewide conferences annually. The spring conference centers on policy, business and service trends, and leadership development. The fall conference dives into best practices for vocational rehabilitation services and disability employment.
“These programs are important because they contribute to quality service delivery, help staff do their jobs better, and help organizations invest in their teams to promote satisfaction and retention,” said Culver.
Building on its educational foundation, Incompass Michigan is piloting the Center for Social Enterprise Development, a cutting-edge initiative providing intensive training and technical assistance for businesses in their critical first five years. The program is designed to cultivate a thriving ecosystem of mission-locked businesses.
“We’re very excited about the potential for ongoing impact for this program, advancing development of mission-locked businesses that put people at the heart of economic progress,” said Culver. “Incompass Michigan and our member organizations help thousands of residents across the state — including Greater Lansing — live, work and play in the community. We are proud to locate our offices here in Lansing, but our vision is a Michigan where all people experience optimal independence and a meaningful, engaged life.”
