Broad Museum March Programs Underway

Movies, museum tours and artists’ motivation are all on tap this month during the March programming for the Eli and Eydthe Broad Art Museum.

Programs take place at the museum, 547 E. Circle Drive in East Lansing, on the campus of Michigan State University. Entry to the Broad Museum is free and open to the public. Upcoming events include:

Museum Tour: Deep-Rooted with Beal Botanical Garden

1-2 p.m. March 24

What can art tell us about the relationship between plants and humans? Join Maeve Bassett, applied ethnobotanist and education program director of the W.J. Beal Botanical Garden, for an immersive tour unearthing the historical, social and political narratives growing within works of art from the MSU Broad Art Museum collection.

Broad Underground Film Series: Lorelei d’Andriole

7-9 p.m. March 29

The Broad Underground Film Series presents experimental and avant-garde film and video screenings programmed in response to exhibitions at the MSU Broad Art Museum. The Midwestern “Very Bad Art Show!!!” is an expanded video performance by Lorelei d’Andriole, assistant professor of electronic art and intermedia for the MSU Department of Art, Art History and Design; and Lex Leto, musician and digital media artist.
