The annual Children’s Trust Fund Pam Posthumus Signature Auction is a major fundraiser for CTF. Because the funds are used for so many important services — from respite care to home visitations, child development support and more — the show simply must go on, even when COVID-19 forces its hand.
The auction, scheduled for this past May, was postponed. But with the pandemic continuing to affect indoor events, CTF had to shift gears. The event was rescheduled and adapted to meet “the new normal” for fundraising.
The now-virtual event is underway with a silent auction and features a premier live auction event this Sept. 16.
“Through this fun virtual version of our Pam Posthumus Auction event, we will raise critical funds to further leverage federal dollars that will be used for the prevention of child abuse and neglect throughout the state,” said CTF Executive Director Suzanne Greenberg.
The event, presented by Akkad Holdings, will auction items including a Detroit Entertainment Experience package, which will include premium tickets to a Tigers home game, Red Wings home game, a show at the Fox Theatre and a stay at the MotorCity Casino Hotel.
Virtual attendees can also bid on several exciting trips, sports memorabilia, Michigan-made items, wooden items created by the Michigan Department of Corrections Prison Build Program and much more.
Bidding starts for premier live items at 7 p.m. Sept 16.
