Golfers were able to get a grip on the pandemic over the summer when they could play outside on lush greens with fresh air and social distancing. With the cold weather causing them to hibernate from the sport, they’ll be pleased to know the Kiwanis Club of Delta Township is offering a chance to hit the course sooner rather than later for a one-day winter golfing event.
The first Winter Golf Outing honoring Art Lopes will take place Feb. 20 at Royal Scot golf course in Lansing.
But golfing in the snow? Really?
This fun outing puts a tennis twist on the event. The game will be played with an iron and tennis balls on a smaller, nine-hole course.
The cost is $100 per foursome with funds going toward the Kiwanis Club to support local restaurants in honor of Art Lopes, who worked closely with many of them.
The event is limited to just 14 teams, and you can register here. Deadline for paid registration is Feb. 17.
