Taste of Victory: ELMWSA Places in Water Competition

Pitcher this: A world where you don’t need bottled water.

It was a fresher kind of tap takeover recently as the East Lansing-Meridian Water and Sewer Authority  placed in the statewide American Water Works Michigan Section Annual Conference Taste-Off hosted in Port Huron in mid-September.

ELMWSA went head-to-head with other regional water winners across the state after taking the top prize at the 2023 American Water Works Association Mount Pleasant Regional Water Taste-Off. The state-level competition pitted ELMWSA against other Michigan municipal regional winners from areas such as Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo and Marquette Township. Judging was conducted based on each water’s taste, smell and clarity.

ELMWSA finished third in the state taste-off, with Marquette Township riding the wave to the top prize for the best water.
