West Bend Mutual Insurance recently presented the Spirit of the Silver Lining Award to four of its agents in Michigan. Additionally, West Bend also donated grant funding to the nonprofit organizations that are recipients of the Spirit of the Silver Lining Award support.

The Spirit of the Silver Lining Award honors West Bend agents and the nonprofit organizations they support for their dedication to delivering a silver lining to those in need.

The Michigan recipients of the 2019 Spirit of the Silver Lining Award are Ben Rathbun of The Rathbun Agency in Lansing; Adam Jackson of Ron Jackson Insurance in Kalamazoo; and Mike Doyle and Shannon Heads of Doyle & Ogden Insurance Advisors in Grand Rapids.

Rathbun was presented the award for his work with Ele’s Place, where he is a support group facilitator. Founded in 1991, Ele’s Place is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support for grieving children and their families. All services provided at Ele’s Place are free of charge.

Ele’s Place, Open Doors Kalamazoo, and the Del J. & Jean B. Doyle Family Foundation each received a $10,000 grant from West Bend Mutual Insurance’s agent fund.

“At West Bend, we have a proud tradition of giving back to the communities in which we do business,” said Kevin Steiner, president and CEO. “The Spirit of the Silver Lining Award is a unique program that allows us to express our gratitude to our agent partners on whom we rely to identify the causes that matter most in our communities.”
