Tucked away in the heart of Grand Ledge, Weathered Nest Vintage Market is a one-of-a-kind destination for lovers of vintage finds, repurposed treasures and artisan goods.
Owned by Chris Cypher, the market offers an eclectic blend of upcycled furniture, handcrafted goods and thoughtfully curated vintage items — all with a strong emphasis on community and creativity.
Cypher took over the store, originally more furniture-focused, in 2019 after years of consigning her hand-painted furniture under the name ReThunk Junk. Specializing in a unique resin-based, water- acrylic furniture paint, Cypher now retails cabinet paints and do-it- yourself supplies, as well as teaches monthly classes to inspire others to transform their own pieces.

With a 2,400-square-foot space, just more than half serves as the storefront while the rest is dedicated to workshops and creative events. Booth renters and consigners — six in total — add to the market’s diversity, offering everything from repurposed furniture to local goods like Lansing’s S&L Bee Farms honey, Grand Ledge’s Cabin in the Woods herbal products, and luxurious alpaca bath products from Great Valley Longnecks.
Weathered Nest isn’t just a shop; it’s a collective of artists and makers. As LeeAnn Scott, a vendor specializing in herbs, said, “It’s all art — upcycled, repurposed, thrifted to bring enjoyment into your life.”

Cypher’s philosophy is simple: reuse, recycle, restore. Keeping furniture and decor out of landfills while supporting local artisans drives everything she does. The market’s booth spaces are customized to suit each vendor at a rate of $3.50 per square foot, with the added perk of rent discounts for those who volunteer their time.
Active in the Grand Ledge Chamber of Commerce and local merchant events like Night Owl shopping nights, Cypher and the Weathered Nest team have woven themselves into the fabric of the community — offering not just goods but a celebration of creativity, resilience and local spirit.
