With unemployment numbers in Michigan expected to spike again, the Capital Area Manufacturing Council, Capital Area Michigan Works!, GST Michigan Works!, Michigan Works! Southeast and Lansing Community College have collaborated to host a virtual Manufacturing Job Jair on Dec. 8.
“Great jobs with excellent wages and benefits are available right now at manufacturers across the capital region,” said Virg Bernero, executive director of the manufacturing council.
The job fair will feature more than 40 different manufacturing employers ranging from Emergent BioSolutions to PepsiCo Inc. and will be broken into two different sessions.
The first session is 9 a.m. to noon and the second will run from 1-4 p.m. with different employers featured in each. That means job seekers should register for both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Manufacturing employers are looking to hire in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac, Shiawasee, Tuscola, Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston and Washtenaw counties. All job seekers need to participate are a computer, tablet or smartphone; a valid email address; and an electronic copy of their resume.
Using the Brazen platform, job seekers will be able to chat via text and video with employers.
Candidates can also visit a job seeker resources virtual booth staffed by Michigan Works! and Lansing Community College team members.
“CAMW! is committed to being a valued resource for our regional employers as well as job seekers,” said Carrie Rosingana, CEO of Capital Area Michigan Works!
Capital Area Michigan Works! staff are available to assist job seekers with updating their materials and prepping for the virtual job fair. For more information, visit camw.org/about-us/contact.
