This summer, the Lansing Lugnuts and the Michigan Department of the Treasury (MDT) are teaming up to bring useful financial resources and information to baseball fans.

The Lansing Lugnuts are a minor league baseball team in the Midwest League, associated with the Toronto Blue Jays; the Treasury’s Michigan Student Aid Outreach (MI Student Aid) team will facilitate the summer education campaign alongside the Lugnuts for the span of 15 home games at Cooley Law Stadium.

“This partnership provides opportunities for student and families navigating the complicated college financial aid process,” said Anne Wohlfert, director of Treasury’s Student Financial Services Bureau. “Cooley Law School Stadium provides a fantastic family atmosphere that will help us reach those individuals.”

The partnership will take the form of promotions between innings, providing an informational platform while scores of friends and families soak in the warm weather and enjoy the game; video advertisements, digital signage and giveaways will make up the bulk of promotion. All tickets to home games that are ordered digitally will also contain information on how to directly link with MI Student Aid.

“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with MI Student Aid,” said Nick Grueser, general manager of the Lansing Lugnuts. “It’s a very cohesive relationship that provides a benefit to our fan base. MI Student Aid works with the same family demographic that the Lansing Lugnuts have been entertaining for 22 years.”

Administered by the Treasury, MI Student Aid is Michigan’s go-to resource for finding the financial resources needed to pay for college.  For more information, visit mistudentaid@michigan.gov, 1-888-4-GRANTS or @mistudentaid on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.
